It sounds like a problem that happens far from home, yet Dutch women end up in this nightmare too. The ‘NPO Doc: Forced Vows’ tells the poignant, true stories of forced-bride women and girls. For their safety, these stories are portrayed by actresses. Confinement, threats, and sexual violence are part of their reality. Seeking help proves complicated, embassies do not always intervene, and families remain silent or actively work against them. Who protects these women? And why is it so difficult to bring them back home?
